The Lip Parade: a week of my favourite lip looks!

Just a quick look through my (end of) summer make up bag to show you what lip products and colours came with me to the sea. Not all of what I brought with me is featured in this post, but these are my favourites and most of them I use not just in the summer months!

MONDAY:
A mixture of nude peach (Mai Tai lip gloss) and coral peach (Bouganvillea Lip&Cheek Creme) from Becca's LE 2010 Bombora Palette gives a lovely soft and moisturizing peachy lip! Love this also for the beach (of course...it's Becca!)

TUESDAY:
One of my all-time favourite glosses, this Lancaster gloss in Nude (02) is a nudish pink with fine pinkish/greenish shimmer. A staple in my summer (and non-summer) make up bag!

WEDNESDAY:
Terrible picture of Hourglass's Extreme Sheen gloss in Lush, a gorgeous golden coral shade. Loved the initial taste/smell, though it's starting to change a bit (for the worse) now...also goes a bit gunky after a while, but the shade is really pretty!

THURSDAY: kissable lips with Kiko's limited edition Red Emotion Sheer Lipstick in Rosa Corallo/Starlet Coral Pink (100), a soft and shimmery corally pink which makes the lips look plumper and feels nicely moisturizing!

FRIDAY: looking all sexy with Le Métier de Beautè's Summerland: this has to be my favourite gloss this year, it is unbelievably, insanely gorgeous!! I'm really glad I got this during my June trip to London (from Liberty's of course, I wish they stocked the brand elsewhere too...Italy, perhaps??). It's a bronzey shade with a hint of red...divine!!!!! This gloss really deserved a post on its own.

SATURDAY:
Rocking the pink lip with Nars's Frisky Summer, a raspberry shade that is one of my absolute favourite Nars glosses, also one of the few that doesn't get a nasty smell after a few months (you know, that clay-like smell lots of people complain of!)

SUNDAY:
Feeling really romantic with YSL's Golden Gloss in Golden Petal (19), a candied pink with golden flecks...pity about the mango smell (I hate mangoes deeply!), everything else is perfect!

THE LINE-UP:

Left to Right: Becca Bombora Palette (from the bottom, Mai Tai gloss and Bouganvillea Lip&Cheek Creme), Hourglass Extreme Sheen Lip Gloss in Lush, Nars Gloss in Frisky Summer, Le Métier de Beautè gloss in Summerland, YSL Golden Gloss in Golden Petal (19), Lancaster shimmer gloss in Nude (02) and, above, Kiko Red Emotion Sheer Lipstick in Rosa Corallo (100).

What was your favourite lip product/shade this summer? And what is your favourite among these? Just curious! :))

Anna xx

Dony 27 agosto 2010 08:31

Le Métier de Beautè's Summerland is very beautiful!!!! ^_^

They are all stunning colors but your lips are fabulous to begin with! My favorites are Friday and Sunday- I have one of those golden glosses- I need to find it- lol.

Thanks for the LM lemming- that Summerland gloss is over the top gorgeous!

oo I love all these lips!
the Le metier gloss looks especially nice. I've really been liking Chantecaille potted gloss in dragonfruit. I bought it at the beginning of July and I can already see pan!

Oh my, u were definitely in a pinky/coral mood! Excellent choices, they all look beautiful on u!!!
And that YSL one... my lipgloss collection would be happier with it...*sigh*! Lol!

Splendido questo post, mi piace tantissimo l'idea, appena posso ti "taggo" per risponderti! :D

Beautiful, you have a really nice lip shape, mine look thin and wonky!
My favourite is Le Métier de Beautè's Summerland, and I'm wondering why I haven't got it! xx

Café Bellini 30 agosto 2010 10:04

Funny you should mention the smell problem with nars - I used to have a lip gloss and threw it out after a couple of weeks because it suddenly smelled SO bad! Otherwise I love their stuff!

@Filokalos: ciao Mary! Bello vero?

Anna 02 settembre 2010 15:39

@JV: ah, you like shimmers! And thanks for your comment about my lips, it made my day :)! x

@lu2smilexo: hello Christina! Have you shown the Chantecaille on your blog and I just haven't noticed? If u haven't u should, sounds lovely! x

Anna 02 settembre 2010 15:43

@tina_mbc: thank you, dear! I always go for peachy/pink lips, but I've promised myself I'll be more daring this A/W! I'm sure your lipgloss collection is desperately in need of the YSL, so pretty!! xx

@Marguerite: grazie Margue!

Anna 02 settembre 2010 15:47

@Replica: ah, thank you!! Guess who created a LMDB lemming for me then?? Rushed all the way to Liberty's while my son was ill at the hotel with my parents, and I was so tempted to get at least another two glosses, but decided to wait until my next trip to London! It's really fab! xx

@Café Bellini: the smell thing is weird, it happens with some of them but not all, so I don't know what the reason is! Curious about the ones you have....anything you really really like and would suggest? Oh, and welcome!! x

birkinbagbeauty 02 settembre 2010 18:22

wow, you have found so many combinations and they look so flattering on you. They look similar for the untrained (not into makeup eye) but I can see the subtle differences and they really are different in a beautiful manner.

I am intriged by the Metier de Beaute lipgloss and I know I can order from liberty.co.uk and have this beauty delivered, but they charge an awful lot for shipping. Still, I want one of those liberty printed suitcases as well, so I might have an excuse to add this beautiful colour with it.

Catanya 03 settembre 2010 15:27

Great blog post! I think my favourite combination is the one with Kiko's limited edition Red Emotion Sheer Lipstick in Rosa Corallo/Starlet Coral Pink!
Simply beautiful!

MMM, I LOVE the YSL one! Perfection :) Thank you for posting x

J. 06 settembre 2010 12:18

Love the Red emotion lipstick in coral pink. I am a major fan of pink... it is one of those things you never seem to kick the habit! haha My favorite lipstick for the summer has to be MAC "chatterbox." It is a very bright pink. Super hot and nice, goes with any color! :D

J. 06 settembre 2010 12:19

PS. Loved your blog, very detailed oriented! :]

I am now following!

3ate4 07 settembre 2010 21:12

They're all such great shades!

Marguerite N. 11 settembre 2010 03:17

Supergirl 13 settembre 2010 13:16

I was in love with coral shades this summer:) So my number one was Revlon "Coral reef" :)

Marguerite N. 17 settembre 2010 19:03

Un piccolo riconoscimento anche per te, cara. ;)

@Birkie: yeah, I realized when I saw the pics on the screen that some people might think they all look the same, but us beauty crazy people know that even if you buy 300 pink glosses there's always a difference...even if it's tiny we still find a way to justify buying pink gloss #301!!! xx

@Catanya: the Kiko is lovely, isn't it? I really think they should make it part of their permanent line! You get Kiko in Spain, don't you? Do you like the brand?? xx

Anna 21 settembre 2010 01:38

@Blushingloves: thanks for the comment and for following me, of course! The Nars is so lovely and flattering for summer, it really brightens my whole face up! xx

@Marina: so sugary, isn't it? I think it's the right mixture between innocent and sexy! xx

Anna 21 settembre 2010 01:44

@J.: thank you for your lovely comment and I'm sorry it has taken me ages to answer you! Have to check that MAC out, sounds good! And I know what you mean about pink, I certainly never tire of it either!! xx

@3ate4: thanks for stopping by and for your comment! They are nice, aren't they? x

@Supergirl: mmm, I don't think I've seen that...pity summer is already finished, otherwise I'd have definitely checked it out! x

Anna 21 settembre 2010 01:46
